Bio
Recruited from the prestigious football nursery of Assumption College, Brian Wicks was a stocky utility who arrived at Brunswick Street with solid credentials. Despite his pedigree, he struggled to cement a permanent spot in the Fitzroy senior lineup, managing just eight goalless appearances across two-and-a-half seasons. His career found a second wind midway through 1962 when he was cleared to North Melbourne, where he was immediately more productive, booting five goals in five games for the Shinboners. Wicks’ VFL tenure concluded at the end of that season with 13 career games, after which he continued his football journey in the VFA with Camberwell.
