Bio
Recruited from Woodville-West Torrens with pick 14 in the 2010 National Draft, Brodie Smith established himself as one of the league's most damaging rebounding defenders. Renowned for his penetrating right boot and ability to break lines with run and carry, he became a critical weapon in the Crows' transition game, earning All-Australian honours in 2014. His career narrative was heavily defined by a bittersweet 2017 campaign; while he was instrumental in Adelaide's charge to the minor premiership, a torn ACL in the Qualifying Final forced him to watch the Grand Final from the sidelines, denying him a place on the biggest stage.
Returning from knee reconstruction, Smith evolved into a durable senior leader during a significant rebuilding period for the club. While primarily deployed across half-back to maximise his metres gained, he demonstrated versatility with stints on the wing and in the midfield when injection of speed was required. By the conclusion of the 2025 season, Smith had cemented his status as a decorated club life member and veteran mentor, providing experience and composure to a developing young list throughout the latter stages of his career.
