Bio
Recruited to the senior list as an 18-year-old, Bruce Bartle was a significant physical presence for Geelong during the late 1950s. Standing 191cm, he was exceptionally tall for the era and operated as a ruckman who could rest forward, managing 26 goals across his 34 games. His career coincided with a difficult period for the Cats, who endured consecutive wooden spoons in 1957 and 1958, and he was frequently rotated through the side as the club searched for a winning formula. He departed Kardinia Park after the 1959 season and sadly passed away in 1977 aged just 39.
