Bio
Hailing from Northam, Western Australia, Bruce Duperouzel established himself as a premier player with Claremont in the WAFL before crossing the Nullarbor to join St Kilda in 1974. A classic rover renowned for his blistering pace and elusive ground-level skills, he possessed a sharp goal sense that made him a constant threat in the forward half. He became a standout performer during a particularly difficult era for the Saints, often carrying the midfield load while the team struggled near the bottom of the ladder.
His individual excellence was formally recognised with the club best and fairest in 1980, leading to his appointment as club captain for the following two seasons. After nine years at Moorabbin, Duperouzel moved to Footscray in 1983, where he spent two final seasons adding veteran experience to the Bulldogs' list before retiring. He remains highly regarded at St Kilda for his loyalty and leadership during one of the club's leanest periods.
