Bio
Hailing from the Goulburn Valley town of Rochester, Bruce Edge was a country recruit who made a brief cameo for Melbourne during the waning stages of the Second World War. Although cleared to the Demons in May 1945, the defender delayed his arrival to continue playing locally, eventually stringing together three consecutive senior games from Round 16 as a half-back. His time in the VFL proved fleeting, as he immediately returned to Rochester to see out the year and, despite completing a pre-season with Melbourne in 1946, ultimately turned his back on the city to resume his career in country football.
