Bio
Recruited from Scotch College, Bruce Elliott’s VFL passage was defined by the trade maneuverings of ruck legend Carl Ditterich. Originally a Melbourne prospect, Elliott was transferred to St Kilda as a teenager in 1973, only to be traded back to the Demons in 1979 alongside his brothers Robert and Glenn in exchange for Ditterich’s return to Moorabbin. A 188cm utility capable of filling key position gaps, he made his senior debut in Round 5, 1979, notably playing alongside both siblings in a loss to Carlton. Despite winning a special award for his efforts in the reserves, he could not cement a position in the senior side and was cleared to Goulburn Valley club Seymour at the end of 1980.
