Bio
Hailing from Colac in western Victoria, Bruce Neave was a tall key defender who arrived at Victoria Park in the late 1960s. Standing 189cm, he was utilized primarily at centre half-back, where his size enabled him to match up on opposing key forwards while providing a competitive aerial presence. Neave broke into the senior side midway through the 1968 season, showing early capability with his marking and kicking, but he found it difficult to lock down a regular spot in a formidable Collingwood lineup that was regularly contending for flags. He remained on the fringe of the senior 22 for three seasons, ultimately playing 13 games before finishing his VFL career at the conclusion of the 1970 season.
