Bio
Recruited from local stronghold Doutta Stars, Bruce Neish was a versatile utility capable of playing as a defender or ruck-rover. He made a spectacular entry into senior football with Essendon in 1970, booting four goals on debut against Melbourne at the MCG and going on to win the club's Best First Year Player award. Despite that breakout season, he found opportunities harder to come by the following year and crossed to Footscray for the 1972 season. He added just one senior game to his tally at the Western Oval before continuing his career with Sunshine in the VFA and later as a fly-in player for East Devonport in Tasmania.
