Bio
Recruited from Morwell in the Latrobe Valley, Bruce Rohde was a solid 183cm utility who managed four senior appearances for Footscray during the 1971 VFL season. Unable to secure a long-term place in the Bulldogs' lineup, he later moved to Queensland where he forged a significant career as a leader in the local competition. Rohde captain-coached Western Districts in Brisbane and became a key figure in state football, representing Queensland in the 1974 and 1975 national carnivals. His standing in the northern state was such that he served as vice-captain of the representative side, establishing a legacy that far exceeded his brief tenure at the Whitten Oval.
