Stats
Bio
A local product recruited from Newtown & Chilwell, Bruce Thomson was a tall utility who earned a brief taste of senior football with Geelong during the 1975 season. Standing 188cm, he possessed the size of a key position player and was handed his debut in Round 13 against Richmond at Kardinia Park, where he managed to boot his solitary VFL goal. He retained his spot for the following week's clash against Collingwood but struggled to impact the contest, gathering just nine disposals across his two appearances. Notable for donning the number 44 guernsey—which had not been worn in a senior match for 16 years prior to his arrival—Thomson was unable to secure a permanent place in the side and returned to local football after his short stint in the hoops.
