Bio
Recruited from Camberwell Grammar where he served as School Captain, Bryan Horskins broke into the Hawthorn senior lineup as a teenager in 1965. He showed early promise, playing eight games and booting four majors in his debut season, but his VFL career was abruptly ended by severe and persistent ankle injuries that forced him into premature retirement from the top level. While his time at Glenferrie Oval was brief, Horskins later became a titanic figure in the VAFA, returning to Old Camberwell Grammarians where he served as a senior coach and a transformative president. His on-field potential may have been curtailed by injury, but his off-field legacy was cemented as a club legend and Hall of Fame administrator who was instrumental in rebuilding Old Camberwell's culture and on-field success in the 1990s.
