Stats
Bio
Standing at just 165cm, Bryan Lane was a pint-sized rover who broke into the Fitzroy lineup as a teenager in the opening round of the 1956 season. Despite his slight frame, he immediately found a niche in the Lions' forward half, booting five goals in his first seven games while roving to ruckmen like Alan Gale. He held his spot for the first half of his debut year but found opportunities scarcer in 1957, adding just five more senior appearances before departing the VFL scene. Remembered as a nippy, opportunistic small man from the club's Brunswick Street days, Lane remained a part of the club's history until his passing in early 2024.
