Bio
Recruited from Dandenong in the Federal League, Bryan Waters was a centre half-forward who briefly tested his mettle at the top level with Hawthorn in the mid-1950s. After initially trying out with Melbourne during the 1955 pre-season, he joined the Hawks but struggled to cement a regular spot in the senior side, managing just five appearances across two seasons. His greatest footballing achievements came after he departed the VFL; he returned to Dandenong as they entered the VFA and immediately established himself as a star of the competition, winning the prestigious J.J. Liston Trophy in 1959. Waters is also noted for being the older brother of Terry Waters, who would go on to captain Collingwood and win a Copeland Trophy.
