Bio
Recruited as a mature-age prospect, Cameron Richardson joined North Melbourne via a complex transaction involving the Gold Coast Suns' inaugural list concessions. After starring for North Ballarat in the VFL during their dominant premiership era, he was pre-listed by the Suns and immediately traded to the Kangaroos ahead of the 2011 season. A running defender characterized by his smooth skills and ability to provide rebound from the back half, Richardson looked comfortable at the level early on but struggled to maintain a regular spot in the senior lineup due to a combination of injury and depth in North's defence. He managed just eight games over three seasons before being delisted at the end of 2013, eventually returning to the VFL where he continued his career as a consistent state-league performer.
