Bio
Recruited from North Adelaide, Cameron Roberts entered the AFL system through the inaugural Port Adelaide list build, where he was pre-listed by the incoming Power franchise before being immediately traded to Geelong in exchange for Shayne Breuer. A key position prospect standing 194cm, Roberts offered structural height and debuted in Round 10, 1997, but found it difficult to cement a permanent role in the Cats' senior lineup against established competition. He featured sporadically over two active seasons, often playing as a tall forward or pinch-hitting in the ruck, yet remained on the fringe of selection and failed to register a senior game in 1999. After being delisted, Roberts returned to South Australia to play for North Adelaide and Sturt in the SANFL before later forging a successful career in player development and coaching, eventually rising to become an assistant coach at Essendon.
