Bio
Taken with pick 19 in the 2002 National Draft, Cameron Wight was a versatile tall prospect who arrived at the Western Bulldogs with high expectations but required significant development. Standing at 200cm, he possessed rare athleticism and agility for a player of his size, allowing him to be utilised as both a ruckman and a key defender. However, his time at the elite level was hampered by a persistent inability to add bulk to his light frame, often leaving him outmuscled in one-on-one contests against stronger key forwards. After a long apprenticeship in the reserves, he finally broke into the senior side under Rodney Eade and enjoyed his most consistent run of games between 2007 and 2008. Ultimately unable to cement a permanent position in the defensive arc, Wight was delisted at the conclusion of the 2009 season.
