Bio
Recruited from Elsternwick, Carlyle Kenley was a serviceable utility whose VFL career was defined by the upheaval of the Great War era. He managed sporadic appearances for Melbourne across the 1913 and 1914 seasons, but his tenure with the Redlegs was cut short by the competition's wartime contraction. With Melbourne still in recess in 1918, Kenley crossed to St Kilda to resume his senior career as the Saints returned to the league. He enjoyed his most consistent run of form at the Junction Oval, becoming a regular fixture in the side and drifting forward to kick occasional goals before retiring in 1919.
