Bio
Hailing from Perth but schooled at Xavier College in Victoria, Cecil Quinlan was a teenage talent who briefly graced the VFL as a 17-year-old. Called up to the Melbourne senior side late in the 1910 season, he managed to boot a goal in his second and final match before stepping away from the top level. His departure was driven by professional rather than athletic reasons, as he traded the football field for medical school, eventually returning to Western Australia to practise as a doctor. Quinlan's potential remained a case of "what if" for Demons fans, as his life was cut tragically short when he passed away suddenly in Perth at just 33 years of age.
