Bio
A tough, mature-age recruit from East Fremantle, Chad Rintoul wasted no time establishing himself at AFL level, tasting premiership success with Adelaide in his debut 1997 season. A strongly built midfielder and half-forward known for his ability to crash through packs, he played in the Crows' 1997 flag win in just his 11th game but suffered the heartbreak of being omitted from the 1998 Grand Final side after playing in the Preliminary Final. He was subsequently traded home to West Coast, where he produced a standout 36-disposal performance against his former club early in his tenure before falling out of favour and being delisted. Rintoul was thrown a lifeline by Mick Malthouse at Collingwood to add muscle to a developing list, but his career was ultimately cut short in 2002 due to persistent migraines and concussion issues.
