Stats
Bio
A defender who emerged from the local Carlton Juniors to make his VFL debut with St Kilda in 1899, Charles Raff struggled to establish himself at the elite level during the league's formative years. He managed five appearances for the Saints in a defensive role but spent the following season out of the senior ranks before surfacing at Princes Park in 1901. Raff's second chance with the Blues proved fleeting, as he added just three games to his tally on a half-back flank before being cleared back to the Carlton Juniors mid-season. He later continued his football journey in the VFA with Preston, remaining one of many players who briefly tasted top-tier football during the transient early era of the competition.
