Bio
Arriving at East Melbourne from South Yarra, Charlie Beckley was a centre half-forward who made a brief but consistent impact for Essendon. He broke into the senior side late in the 1909 season and retained his place for the remainder of the year, showing promise as an attacking target. Despite starting the 1910 campaign in the seniors, his time at the top level ended abruptly when he crossed to the VFA to play for Brighton mid-year. A bank clerk by profession, Beckley eventually departed Victoria the following season to pursue opportunities in Western Australia.
