Bio
Recruited from West Melbourne, Charlie Cameron joined North Melbourne in 1926 during the club's infancy in the VFL competition. A clever and elusive rover known for his consistency, he became a central figure at Arden Street during a difficult era for the side, often carrying the midfield load and eventually winning the club's Best and Fairest award in 1932. His standing within the group was significant enough to earn him the captaincy ahead of the 1934 season.
However, Cameron's tenure as skipper was cut short by an abrupt and controversial mid-season departure. Following a dispute with the North Melbourne committee, he secured a clearance to Fitzroy, where he immediately slotted into their lineup. He spent the final three years of his career at the Maroons, offering experienced service around the stoppages before retiring at the end of the 1936 season.
