Bio
An inaugural signing for the Gold Coast Suns, Charlie Dixon was a zone selection from Cairns who etched his name into history by kicking the club's first ever AFL goal in 2011. After five seasons marred by injury and inconsistency on the Gold Coast, he requested a trade to Port Adelaide following the 2015 season to reunite with former mentor Ken Hinkley, a move designed to establish him as the focal point of a premiership-contending attack.
Standing 200cm with a hulking frame, Dixon developed into one of the competition's most imposing contested marking forwards. Known for his sheer physical presence and willingness to crash packs, he served as the structural anchor of the Power's forward line for nearly a decade, often providing aggressive relief in the ruck. His time at Alberton saw him realise his immense potential, culminating in an All-Australian blazer in 2020 and three seasons as the club's leading goalkicker. Despite battling chronic body issues throughout his career, he retired at the end of 2024 as a cult figure and a vital pillar of the Power's finals campaigns during the Hinkley era.
