Stats
Bio
Recruited from North Melbourne in the VFA, where he had established himself as a potent forward during the club's dominant late 1890s era, Charlie Foletta brought significant goal-kicking pedigree to Fitzroy. He joined the Maroons for the 1899 season, stepping into a lineup that would eventually secure the premiership later that year. Despite his strong reputation in the Association, Foletta found the transition to the VFL challenging, managing just one goal from his five senior appearances. He was unable to hold his place in the side as the season progressed towards the finals, leaving his brief tenure at Fitzroy as a short postscript to a distinguished career with the Shinboners in the rival competition.
