Bio
Recruited from South Bendigo as a seasoned 31-year-old, Charlie Johnson holds the distinction of being one of Melbourne’s oldest debutants. He arrived at the MCG in 1907 alongside his brother Jack, with the siblings debuting together in the opening round against Carlton. Operating as a forward, Johnson proved effective in front of goal, contributing six majors across the first eight rounds of the season to provide a target for a struggling lineup. However, despite this solid return, he drifted out of the senior side midway through the year and did not feature at VFL level again, leaving a brief legacy as a mature-age cameo during a rebuilding phase for the club.
