Bio
Arriving from the Essendon Juniors, Charlie Teather was a teenage debutant who broke into the senior lineup at just 17 years of age. A utility capable of playing as a wingman or defender, he played the bulk of his football during the 1906 and 1907 seasons, though he struggled to cement a permanent spot in the side and briefly dropped down to represent the Essendon Association club in the VFA. Often referred to in contemporary newspapers as "Tether," he disappeared from the VFL scene for two years before earning a solitary recall for one final match against South Melbourne in early 1910. He ultimately departed the club just prior to Essendon's dominant premiership era, finishing his senior career with 20 games.
