Bio
Recruited from VFA club Brunswick, Charlie Tough arrived at Princes Park in 1902 just as the legendary Jack Worrall was appointed secretary and began his revolution of the club's culture. A reliable depth player during this transitional era, Tough featured sporadically over four seasons as Worrall aggressively overhauled the list and professionalised the team's training standards. He managed just 25 senior games and two goals during his tenure, often finding himself on the fringe of selection as the side grew stronger year by year. His departure at the end of the 1905 season proved agonizingly timed, as he left the club just months before the Blues embarked on their historic premiership hat-trick from 1906 to 1908.
