Bio
Recruited from Devonport on the north-west coast of Tasmania, Charlie Wolfe crossed Bass Strait to try his luck with South Melbourne during the 1913 season. He managed to break into the senior side for six appearances and booted two goals, but he found it difficult to cement a permanent spot in a competitive lineup that eventually reached the preliminary final. His time at the Lake Oval proved to be a brief chapter in a cross-country journey, as he soon relocated to Western Australia to join Subiaco. Wolfe ultimately found greater stability and success in the WAFL, where he became a key member of the Lions' 1915 premiership side before his career wound down.
