Bio
Arriving at Fitzroy as a mature-age recruit, Chris Duthy was already a decorated SANFL star who had anchored the defence in Glenelg's back-to-back premierships of 1985 and 1986. The Lions selected the uncompromising full-back with pick 37 in the 1986 National Draft, hoping his physical presence and experience would translate immediately to the VFL. However, his tenure in Melbourne was derailed by injury, limiting him to just three consecutive appearances early in the 1987 season before he was forced out of the side. Duthy eventually returned to the Bays to finish his career, cementing his status as a club great with over 200 games and five Grand Final appearances in South Australia.
