Teams

Recruited from the Eastern Ranges with pick 56 in the 2004 National Draft, Chris Knights established himself as a damaging ball-user for the Adelaide Crows. A classic outside midfielder and half-forward, he was renowned for his penetrating left boot, often using it to break lines or finish accurately from long range. His career at West Lakes peaked during the 2009 season, where he booted 43 goals and polled 13 Brownlow votes, proving himself as a dangerous offensive weapon capable of turning matches in short bursts.

Despite his talent, soft tissue injuries frequently interrupted his momentum, leading Knights to exercise his rights as an unrestricted free agent at the end of 2012 to join Richmond. The move was intended to rejuvenate his career, but disaster struck early in his first season at Punt Road when he suffered a severe patellar tendon injury against Port Adelaide. The rehabilitation process was difficult, and although he managed a brief return to the senior side, ongoing fitness struggles forced him to retire midway through the 2015 season.
