Bio
Recruited from Rochester in the Bendigo Football League, where he had established himself as a prolific spearhead with a century of goals in 1937, Chris Lamborn arrived at North Melbourne with a reputation as a dangerous sharpshooter. However, the step up to VFL level proved difficult, and he failed to register a major in his initial five-game stint with the Shinboners before dropping out of the league for several years. He resurfaced during the manpower shortages of the Second World War, acting as a permit player for South Melbourne for a single match in 1943 and adding a handful of games with St Kilda the following season. Lamborn remains a unique statistical footnote as a wartime nomad who represented three different clubs in just ten senior appearances without ever recapturing his dominant country form.
