Bio
Recruited from Wangaratta with the fifth selection in the 1988 National Draft, Chris Naish established himself as a crafty small forward and rover for Richmond throughout the 1990s. Possessing a natural goal sense and the ability to crumb effectively off packs, he became a focal point of the Tigers' attack, eventually peaking during the 1995 season. That year, Naish topped the club's goal-kicking list and played a pivotal role in Richmond's run to the Preliminary Final, earning respect as one of the competition's most dangerous opportunistic forwards.
Following 143 games at Punt Road, Naish was traded to Port Adelaide ahead of the 1998 season to add seasoned depth to the fledgling club's list. He offered immediate value to the Power, playing 18 games in his debut season in South Australia, but his opportunities diminished the following year as the club looked toward younger talent. Naish departed the AFL level at the conclusion of the 1999 season, though his legacy at Richmond was later revived when his son, Patrick Naish, joined the Tigers as a father-son recruit in 2017.
