Bio
A recruit from Bendigo, Clarrie Woodfield managed a fleeting but distinctive VFL career that saw him represent two foundation clubs in consecutive years. He made his debut with Essendon late in the 1921 season before crossing to South Melbourne the following year, where he added a solitary senior appearance to his record. Built as a mid-sized utility capable of filling gaps in the lineup, Woodfield was unable to consolidate a regular position at either Windy Hill or the Lake Oval. His tenure remains a statistical curiosity, leaving the league with a career total of just two games split across two of the competition's most historic sides.
