Bio
Recruited from VFA club Prahran, Claude Cornish faced the enviable but difficult task of breaking into a Carlton side at the peak of its powers in 1910. Joining a roster stacked with triple-premiership stars, Cornish was utilized as a depth player late in the season, managing just three senior appearances for the Blues. While he managed to hit the scoreboard with a goal during his brief stint at Princes Park, the competition for spots in the star-studded lineup—which would go on to contest that year’s Grand Final—proved too fierce for him to secure a permanent place. He remains a footnote in a golden era for the club, serving as a backup option before departing the VFL scene.
