Bio
Recruited from Bentleigh, Clem Conroy arrived at Melbourne in 1944, stepping into a league heavily impacted by the Second World War. With many of the competition's stars serving overseas, Conroy seized his opportunity on the wing, offering width and relief during a challenging period for the Demons. He played 12 games across three seasons, managing a single goal during his stint in the red and blue. His VFL journey concluded in 1946 as the return of servicemen increased competition for list spots, marking him as one of the many "wartime footballers" whose careers were largely defined by the unique circumstances of the era.
