Bio
Recruited from the Geelong Falcons with pick 34 in the 2005 National Draft, Clint Bartram made an immediate impact at Melbourne, playing every game in his debut 2006 season. He quickly established a reputation as a tenacious small defender and disciplined tagger, often tasked with nullifying dangerous opposition small forwards or running with elite midfielders. His reliability and defensive accountability saw him become a fixture in the senior side, eventually earning elevation to the club's leadership group during a challenging transitional period for the Demons.
Despite his durability early in his career, Bartram's time at the top level was severely hampered by injury issues later on. He played through significant pain to reach the 100-game milestone early in the 2012 season, but a degenerative knee condition ultimately forced his premature retirement at just 24 years of age. Although his career was cut short, he departed as a respected one-club player known for his courage and selfless application to defensive roles.
