Teams

Recruited from Kedron-Grange in Queensland, Clint Bizzell entered the AFL via Geelong with pick 74 in the 1995 National Draft. While he initially displayed potential as a forward, notably kicking five goals against Collingwood in 1999, he struggled to find consistency within the Cats' structure. At the conclusion of the 2001 season, Bizzell was traded to Melbourne in a deal that saw Geelong receive the draft pick eventually used to select James Kelly. This move proved pivotal for his career, allowing him to reinvent himself as a high-leaping defender at his new club.

At Melbourne, Bizzell became a vital component of the backline, renowned for his ability to read the play, take spectacular intercept marks, and rebound with a penetrating kick. His transition to a half-back flanker saw him finish runner-up in the Keith 'Bluey' Truscott Medal in 2003, underscoring his importance to the side during the Demons' finals campaigns of the mid-2000s. Although his final seasons were hampered by persistent injuries, Bizzell retired in 2007 as a fan favourite who successfully transformed from a fringe forward into one of the league's most stylish and effective defenders.
