Arriving at Fitzroy from the Scotch College football program, Clive Morrison was a tall forward option who broke into the senior side in 1909. At 182cm, he offered a significant aerial presence for the era, allowing him to operate effectively as a marking target inside 50 or as a follower pushing forward. He showed genuine aptitude in front of the sticks, booting 18 goals in his 23 games and consistently hitting the scoreboard during his time in the firsts. However, his tenure at Brunswick Street was short-lived; despite establishing himself as a regular contributor with a solid goal-per-game strike rate, he stepped away from VFL football after just two seasons, concluding his career at the end of 1910 aged only 21.
