Bio
Recruited from VFA club Brunswick, Clyde Stanway arrived at Melbourne during one of the most difficult periods in the club's history. He made his debut in Round 2 of the 1906 season, a year in which the Redlegs would win just a single game and claim the wooden spoon. A forward capable of finding the goals at VFA level, Stanway struggled to replicate that scoring impact in a struggling VFL lineup, managing just one major across his 13 senior appearances. He was a fixture in the side for the majority of the season but did not remain at the top level, returning to Brunswick the following year where he added to his career tally of 28 games and 13 goals in the Association.
