Bio
A surprise first-round selection in the 2024 National Draft, Cody Angove arrived at Greater Western Sydney as a tantalising West Australian prospect with a reputation for elite outside run. The Claremont product, who played a key role in back-to-back Colts premierships in the WAFL, was considered a draft "bolter" when the Giants swooped with pick 24, prioritising his aerobic capacity and speed over his initially light frame. Functioning primarily as a high half-forward and winger, Angove’s game is built on his ability to break lines and link up play between the arcs, using his endurance to outwork opponents in transition. While he managed to break into the senior side for a handful of games during his debut 2025 campaign, he has largely spent his time developing in the VFL to build the physical resilience required for the top level. As he moves further into his career, Angove remains a promising depth option pushing for a regular spot in the Giants' midfield rotation.
