Bio
Cody Lee is a tall, intercept marking defender who emerged as a promising West Coast Next Generation Academy prospect in 2026. The 193cm talent progressed through the South Perth Junior Football Club and Wesley College before joining Perth in the WAFL. Known for his aerial prowess, Lee caught the eye of recruiters early in the year when he took 15 marks in a standout Colts match against South Fremantle. That performance, coupled with impressive preseason testing where he recorded a 90cm running vertical jump, helped him earn a call up to the Western Australian squad for the Under 18 National Championships, where he played the final game against the Allies.
A disciplined key defender with a strong set of hands, Lee has demonstrated a clear ability to read the play and cut off opposition attacks. His development took a significant step forward late in the season when he spent time training with the West Coast AFL squad and subsequently made his WAFL league debut for the Eagles. As an exciting academy prospect, he is firmly on the radar for West Coast as they consider their defensive options ahead of the national draft.
