Bio
Recruited from the Dandenong Stingrays with pick 15 in the 2019 National Draft, Cody Weightman established himself as a dynamic small forward known for his vertical leap and energetic presence. After scoring with his first kick on debut in 2020, he became a critical component of the Western Bulldogs' attack, best illustrated by a match-winning four-goal haul in the 2021 Elimination Final against Essendon. His playing style is defined by an ability to fly for marks against taller opponents and an aptitude for drawing high contact, a trait that occasionally drew scrutiny but provided his side with valuable scoring opportunities. Despite battling recurring injuries that often interrupted his continuity, particularly regarding his elbows, Weightman has maintained a high strike rate near goal to serve as the primary crumbing target at the feet of the club's key forwards.
