Bio
Colin Crawford was a clever rover and wingman recruited from the Essendon Juniors who relied on ball-handling skills to offset a lack of genuine pace. While he managed to hold his own at Windy Hill for two seasons—even earning selection for a Victorian representative side against the Bendigo League—he struggled to secure a permanent role in the Bombers' best 22. In search of regular senior football, he was cleared to Fitzroy in 1936 but featured only once for the Maroons before transferring to the VFA mid-season. His legacy was ultimately defined at Brunswick, where he became a 1938 premiership player and later captain-coach, alongside a notable district cricket career as a wicketkeeper for Fitzroy.
