Bio
A high-flying West Australian recruit, Col Hebbard arrived at Windy Hill via a determined pathway, sitting out the 1956 season to force a clearance from Mt Hawthorn. Making his debut alongside future legend John Birt in Round 1, 1957, Hebbard quickly established himself as a versatile asset, capable of playing effectively on both half-forward and half-back flanks. Renowned for his tremendous vertical leap and aerial courage, he became a regular fixture in the side, featuring in Essendon's losing Grand Final teams of 1957 and 1959. After winning the club's Best Utility award in 1961, he returned to his home state to join West Perth, where he played alongside his brothers Neville and Robert, though he remained connected to the Bombers for decades as a talent scout in the west.
