Bio
Known affectionately as "Stretch" due to his imposing 197cm frame, Colin MacNeil was a giant of the late 1950s who provided Fitzroy with a towering option in the ruck. He made an immediate impression in his first senior match, booting three goals on debut against South Melbourne at the Lake Oval in Round 2, 1959, displaying a versatility that allowed him to push forward and impact the scoreboard. Despite this promising start, MacNeil found it difficult to cement a permanent position in the senior lineup, playing eight games across two seasons while featuring prominently in the seconds, including an appearance in the 1959 reserves Grand Final. Although his VFL career was brief, his significant height and goal-kicking debut remain the defining chapters of his tenure with the Lions.
