Bio
Recruited from County Tipperary, Colin O'Riordan joined the Sydney Swans as an international rookie in late 2015 after impressing scouts with his character and athleticism at the Draft Combine. A Gaelic football star in his youth, he spent two seasons honing his craft in the NEAFL before making his debut in 2018, eventually developing into a courageous half-back known for his intercept marking and unwavering commitment to the contest. While he largely operated as a fringe player who provided reliable depth rather than a permanent fixture in the best 22, his standing within the club was immense, evidenced by his receipt of the Best Clubman award in 2021. Notably, he was granted special permission to play for Tipperary in their historic 2020 Munster Senior Football Championship victory while still contracted to the Swans. O'Riordan retired in August 2022 due to a chronic hip injury, departing the field as one of the Swans' most respected international recruits.
