Honours

Family

Recruited from Swan Hill, Colin Rice established himself as a versatile and skilled operator for Geelong, capable of influencing matches as a rover or tightening the screws in the back pocket. His consistent excellence during a strong era for the Cats was recognised with the Carji Greeves Medal as the club's best and fairest in 1959, and he even shouldered the captaincy duties for part of the 1960 season. Rice’s VFL career concluded in fairytale fashion, as he played his final game in the Hoops as a member of the 1963 premiership side before departing Victoria to continue his football journey with Glenelg in the SANFL.
