Bio
Recruited from St Albans, Colin Seery was a mid-sized utility who faced the enviable but difficult task of breaking into North Melbourne’s formidable lineup during their mid-1970s golden era. He managed to boot three goals in just two senior appearances for the Kangaroos as a teenager in 1976, a season where the club reached the Grand Final, but found opportunities scarce amongst a star-studded 22. After a hiatus from senior VFL football, Seery resurfaced at the Western Oval in 1980, adding another 11 games to his tally with Footscray over two seasons while balancing his studies at the local Institute of Technology. While his on-field career was brief, Seery later established a significant off-field legacy in sports and health administration, eventually serving as the CEO of the Sydney Swans and later leading national charity Lifeline Australia.
