Bio
A promising Gaelic football talent from County Laois, Colm Begley joined the Brisbane Lions as an international rookie and defied the typical development curve for Irish converts by making an immediate impact. He adapted rapidly to the code, utilising his agility and natural ball-handling skills to secure a spot as a running defender, accumulating 29 games over three seasons in Queensland. Despite this early promise, fitness and form issues led to his delisting by the Lions, though he was quickly thrown a lifeline by St Kilda in the draft. However, Begley was unable to force his way into a formidable Saints outfit that dominated the 2009 home-and-away season, managing just one senior appearance for the club before returning to Ireland to resume his inter-county career.
