Bio
Recruited from Caulfield in the VFA, Con Gorozidis quickly established himself as a cult hero at Moorabbin, affectionately dubbed "The Golden Greek" by the faithful. Despite standing just 183cm, he played as a full-forward who relied on exceptional goal sense, strong hands, and dead-eye accuracy rather than athleticism or height. He topped St Kilda's goalkicking in 1981 with 34 majors, showcasing his natural talent, but struggles with the rigorous fitness and training standards of the elite level ultimately limited his tenure. After a transfer to the Western Bulldogs (then Footscray) yielded just five games in 1983, he departed the VFL to become a prolific goalkicking legend with Sandringham in the VFA and various suburban clubs.
